Searching for a Document

Learn how to search for documents on LEAP Desktop using basic keyword & document number searches, and advanced options for more specific queries. Preview search results directly from the Correspondence List.

Search for a Document Across All Your Matters

 

  1. Click the LEAP Menu > Home > under Documents > Search All Correspondence.

    The Correspondence Search window will open.

  2. Enter a keyword in the Search Documents field then press Enter.

You can also search by document number, click the down arrow in the Search Documents field and select Search By Document Number. Enter the document number and click OK. Click the Search All Matters drop-down menu to select other options.

 

Click Advanced Search for further options. The Advanced Correspondence Search window will give you access to more search options.

  1. Click a document in the search results to preview the selected document in the preview panel.

To search for a document held by the firm in the Safe Custody, refer to Search your Safe Custody.

Search for a Document Within a Matter

 

  1. Open the matter.

  2. Make sure you're on the Details & Correspondence tab.

  3. Enter a keyword in the Search Correspondence field.

    The Correspondence List will narrow down your search results.

Search the Contents of Documents in a Matter

 

  1. Open the matter.

  2. Make sure you're on the Details & Correspondence tab.

  3. Enter a keyword in the Search Correspondence field.

  4. Click the drop-down arrow of the search icon then select Search in Document Content.

    The Correspondence Search window will open and display your search results.

  5. Click a document in the search results to preview the selected document in the preview panel.

Search for a Document Within a Matter

 

  1. Open the matter.

  2. Make sure you're on the Details & Correspondence tab.

  3. Enter a keyword in the Search Correspondence field.

    The Correspondence List will narrow down your search results.

Click the Filter option to search results by document type.
