Financial Summary of a Matter

You can get a snapshot of current balances for each area of a matter to assist you in receivable management and the billing process from the Financial Summary tab of an open matter. Financial Summary tab provides a running total of unbilled items on the matter.

  1. Open the matter.

  2. Click LEAP Accounting. 

    LEAP Accounting will open in a new window.

  3. Click the Financial Summary tab.

  4. You can quickly and easily go to relevant information concerning the financial status of the matter by clicking the available hyperlinks on the column and section headings:

    • Click the Less General Retainer heading hyperlink to go to the General Account > Retainer & Credits tab of the matter.
    • Click the Less Trust Retainer heading hyperlink to go to the Trust Funds > Retained Trust Funds tab of the matter.
    • Click the Receivables heading hyperlink to go to the General Account > Expenses & Receivables tab of the matter.
    • Click the Billable Time & Fees heading hyperlink to go to the Time & Fees tab of the matter.
    • Click the Billable Expenses heading hyperlink to go to the General Account > Expense Recoveries tab of the matter.
    • Click the Last Invoice link to open the last invoice created.
    • Click the Trust Funds heading hyperlink to go to the Trust Funds > Trust Accounts tab of the matter.
    • Click the Last Transaction link to open the last trust accounts transaction created.
    • Click the Separate Interest-Bearing Funds heading hyperlink to go to the Trust Funds > Interest-Bearing Accounts tab of the matter.
    • Click the Retained heading hyperlink to go to the Trust Funds > Retained Trust Funds tab of the matter.

If a Fee Estimate has been set for the matter, a visual indicator will display how the matter is tracking against the estimate.

 

  1. Open the matter.

  2. Click the Financial Summary tab.

  3. You can quickly and easily go to relevant information concerning the financial status of the matter by clicking the available hyperlinks on the column and section headings:

    • Click the Receivables heading hyperlink to go to the General Account > Expenses & Receivables tab of the matter.
    • Click the Billable Time & Fees heading hyperlink to go to the Time & Fees tab of the matter.
    • Click the Billable Expenses heading hyperlink to go to the General Account > Expense Recoveries tab of the matter.
    • Click the Last Invoice link to open the last invoice created.
    • Click the Trust Accounts heading hyperlink to go to the Trust Funds > Trust Accounts tab of the matter.
    • Click the Last Transaction link to open the last trust accounts transaction created.
    • Click the Separate Interest-Bearing Accounts heading hyperlink to go to the Trust Funds > Separate Interest-Bearing Accounts tab of the matter.

  1. Open the matter.

  2. Swipe to or tap the Financial Summary tab.
