How To

Location: LEAP Menu > Reports > Matters & Clients > Critical Dates

Purpose: Provides a centralized view of all upcoming and past critical dates (set under the Calendar & Tasks tab within a matter). Users can filter or group the results based on various criteria such as those related to Staff and Matter.

The report is beneficial for:

Streamlining scheduling and resource allocation by using Staff filters to focus on critical dates related to selected Staff members.
Proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues associated with critical dates.
Serving as a historical record for audits, reviews, and accountability purposes.

Report Filters:

Date Range	Filters results to include only critical dates dated within the selected date range.
Critical Date	Filters results to include only the selected critical date aliases. Only shows critical dates that are in use (i.e., they have an entered date).
Staff	Includes three staff-related filters to refine matters based on the selected staff member(s) assigned to a specific Staff Type role. Inc. Inactive Staff: Provides an option to include or exclude Inactive Staff Members from the the Staff list for selection. NOTE: A staff member is considered Inactive if their Current Staff Member option is togged off under the Access & Permissions in the Staff Details window (Menu > Settings > Application Settings > Firm > Staff > Members). Staff Type: Filters results to include only matters where the selected staff member(s) are assigned to one of the following roles: Staff: Include all below three staff roles. Staff Responsible Staff Acting Staff Assisting Staff: Provides a list of staff members to select from, dynamically updated based on the 'Include Inactive Staff' setting.
	NOTE: The interaction between 'Staff Type' and 'Staff' filters is as follows: When 'Staff' is chosen as the 'Staff Type', selecting Staff A in the 'Staff' list will display matters where Staff A acts as Staff Responsible, Staff Acting or Staff Assisting (at least one of the three roles). Choosing 'Staff Responsible', 'Staff Acting' or 'Staff Assisting' as the 'Staff Type' and selecting Staff A in the 'Staff' list will specifically show matters where Staff A is designated in the selected role only.
Matter	Includes two matter-related filters: Matter Status: Provides a matter status drop-down list and filters results based on your selection. The drop-down list only displays matter statuses currently in use (including 'Archived' if you have any archived matters). Matter Type: Provides a matter type drop-down list and filters results based on your selection. The drop-down list only displays matter types currently in use.
Group By	Group the report by: None: No grouping is applied. Client Matter Number Matter Type Staff Acting Staff Assisting Staff Responsible

Report Fields:

Matter No.	Displays the matter number.
Matter Type	Displays the matter type.
Matter Status	Displays the matter status.
Matter Description	Displays the matter description set in the Matter Type window.
Client	Displays the matter's client.
Resp.	Displays the Person Responsible on the matter.
Act.	Displays the Person Acting on the matter.
Assist.	Displays the Person Assisting on the matter.
Critical Date Name	Displays the name of the critical date.
Critical Date	Displays the critical date.
