From the LEAP Matter List, click the LEAP Menu > Marketplace.

The LEAP Marketplace will open in a new window.

From the All Apps section, select Trust Administration Fee.

Click Enable.

Click the Accounting > under General Ledger > Tax Codes.

Click New Tax Code.

The New Tax Code window will open.

Enter GST as the Tax Code name.

Enter the Description. E.g. Federal goods & services tax.

Enter 5 as the Rate amount.

Enter GST as the General Ledger Tax Code.

Click Save.

Click the Accounting > under Activity Codes > Expense Recovery.

Ensure there is a TAF Expense Recovery Code available, if not add one.

This must be set with the following:

• Description: Trust Administration Fee
• Inc Tax: Not selected
• Amount/Each: $20 (The value of the Trust Administration Fee)
• Tax Code: GST (This is charged at 5%)

Click New Expense Recovery.

The New Expense Recovery window will open.

Enter TAF as the Recovery Code.

Enter the Billing Description. E.g. Trust Administration Fee.

(Optional) You can tick to Group on Invoice for any items that has TAF expense recovery code.

Leave Inc. Tax unticked.

Enter $15 as the Amount / Each.

Select the Tax Code as GST.

Click Save.

Open the BC province matter.

Click the Trust Funds > Trust Accounts tab.

Click Trust Admin Fee.

The Trust Admin Fee will open in a new window.

The default Bank Account is used. If you want to use a different account, click and select from the list, then select Select.

Enter or select the client the payment is Received From. Type directly into the textbox or click to choose the person from the Card List, then click Select.

Choose a Payment Type by clicking and choosing an option from the list, then click Select.

Once you have chosen the Payment Type and depending on your selection, you may want to enter the Payment Type Details which may automatically display for you to complete. If not, click and complete the bank account details fields, then click OK.

Enter the Reason.

Enter a Reference No. if you are not using automatic sequential numbering.

By default, the Transaction Date is today's date. Click to select a date that is different to the current date.

The Entry Date is always today's date and cannot be changed.

Enter the Amount.

By default, the Billing Description should be pre-populated from the TAF expense recovery code. You may change the Billing Description if required.

Check the details are correct and click Save and Close.

A Receipt for Payment will be posted on the Trust Ledger and a TAF Expense Recovery on the General Ledger.

From the LEAP Matter List, click the LEAP Menu > Accounting > under Trust Accounting > Trust Administration Fee.

The Trust Administration Fee Report will open in a new window.

You can click to expand each month to see the TAF transactions that have been posted, along with totals.

If required, the user can click the required Quarter button to quickly view that quarter.

It is also possible to change the To or From dates to focus on a different range and click Search to update the information displayed.

Once the appropriate information is displayed you can use the Export button to output the detail to Excel. You will be prompted to select the location of where to save the Excel file on your computer.

To view the exported report, navigate to the location specified and open the Excel file.

You can switch between the Summary and Breakdown sheets within the Excel document to view more details.
