How to Access

You can access LEAP Timesheet several ways:

Click the LEAP Menu > Accounting > under General Accounting > Timesheet on the Matter List.
Click Timesheet on the toolbar of the Time & Fees tabs in a matter.
Click the Timesheet button at the top left-hand corner of the Matter List or any matter.

Main Menu - Enables access to features and functions within LEAP Timesheet.
Staff Tab - You can open a separate tab for each staff member in your firm. There is also an Incomplete tab for the current user.

To add multiple staff to the Timesheet, go to File > New Sheet and select the staff member.
Toolbar - This toolbar allows you to create and manage time entries. You can also open the relevant matter in LEAP Desktop for the selected time entry.
List of Time Entries - The time entries are for the selected staff member tab with a selected date range. This would be where you enter, modify and delete your time entries.

The time entries are colour-coded for easy identification:
- Green - successfully submitted time entry
- Blue - time entry has been invoiced
- White - an incomplete time entry
- Red - time entry has been modified but the change hasn't been updated on the matter
Click any of the column headings to sort your entries in ascending or descending order.

Move to another staff member - Right-click on a time entry and select to move the time entry to another staff member.
Matter Summary - When you select a time activity, the Matter Summary section provides you with important financial information. This can assist with credit control as it allows you to assess the matter debt.

If you have a fee estimate for the matter in LEAP, the Fee Estimate warning will appear when you approach the estimated amount.
Activities - A list of activities related to the time entry entered.

Matter Entries - A list of the last 15 time entries entered for the selected matter.
Performance - The Performance indicators assist you in monitoring your time and enable you to compare your actual time to what is budgeted.

To enable the comparison between your actual time and what is budgeted, you will need to have set up the Application Settings - Staff Budgets.

Activities on Timesheet

Within the Timesheet window, you can make edits to time entries from multiple matters.

When any of the columns are modified in the LEAP Timesheet, the changes will automatically sync to LEAP Desktop and apply to the Activity in the Matter.

Main Menu Options

File

Options	Description
New Sheet	Click New Sheet and select a staff member to view their daily time sheet and enter time on their behalf. You'll need to have permission to view other staff's time and fees which is set in LEAP Application Settings - Staff Members.
Hide Sheet	Click Hide Sheet to hide the active tab's Timesheet.
Close	Click Close to exit the LEAP Timesheet.

Edit - Contains your common editing functions including Copy Row and Paste.

Settings

Options	Description
User Preferences	To adjust the Timer settings in the Timesheet : In the top Menu bar of Timesheet Click Settings and Select User Preferences Start timer on new timer fee: Tick this option to start the timer for a new fee. Stop timer automatically: Tick this option to automatically stop the timer when you make an entry in the Elapsed or Units columns of your Timesheet. One active timer running: Tick this option if you want to only have one active timer at any time. New Time Fee Default Repeat last timer: Tick this option if you want the default new time fee to be repeated from the last matter that you worked on. Deleting Time Fee Warn if created by a different user: Tick this option to be notified if a different user creates or deletes a time fee. Fee Estimates Show fee estimates notification once per matter per session: Tick this option to display the fee estimate notification only once per matter during each session.
Format Columns	You are able to customise your Timesheet by including and excluding other columns of information to be displayed. To show a column, tick the Show checkbox next to the relevant column and click OK. To hide a column, untick the Show checkbox next the column and click OK. To change the order of the displayed columns, click and drag the column heading into the desired position.
Autotext	Avoid retyping commonly used text in Timesheet with AutoText. Shortcut - A keyword for the Value text. Value - The full text of the shortcut's value when used in Timesheet. To add a new keyword: Click Add. Enter the keyword in Shortcut. Enter the full text of the keyword in Value. Click Save & Close to save and close or click Add to save and add another keyword. To delete a keyword: Click the bin icon next to a shortcut to Delete. To use AutoText: Select the Billing Description of an entry. Type your keyword from AutoText. Press Space. Your keyword will be changed to the shortcut's value.

Toolbar Options

Options	Description
New Entry	Click New Entry to create a new time fee on the current active Timesheet. There are other options associated with New Entry. Click the New Entry's down-arrow to: Time Fee (Last Matter) - Add a new time fee entry based on the matter that was used for the previous time fee entry. Time Fee (Duplicated Selected) - Add a new time fee entry based on the currently selected time entry, i.e. copy the selected time entry.
Date Range	Display entries on the Timesheet as per date range. You can choose from the following options: Today - Display entries for current date. Yesterday - Display entries for the previous date. This Week - Display entries for current week. Last Week - Display entries for the past 7 days. This Month - Display entries for current month. Last 30 Days - Display entries for the last 30 days. Last 60 Days - Display entries for the last 60 days. You may also display entries for a selected date range using the calendar picker.
Start/Stop Timer	Click to Start or Stop recording time for the selected time entry.
Delete	Delete the selected time entry.
Open Matter	Open the associated matter in LEAP for the selected time entry.

Shortcut Keys

Global Shortcuts

Shortcut Keys	Description
Insert (Ins)	Add a new time entry.
Ctrl + =	Duplicate the selected time entry.
=	Create a new time entry with the last selected matter. Note: The last selected matter is the last matter selected from the matter dropdown, not the currently selected time entry's matter.

Table Shortcuts

Ctrl + S	Start/stop the timer for the selected time entry.
Delete	Delete the selected time entries.

Tab	Move to the next cell. Note: Arrow keys can be also used to navigate through the table.

How to Access

You can access LEAP Timesheet several ways:

Click the LEAP Menu > Click LEAP Accounting. LEAP Accounting will open in a new window. Under General Accounting > select Timesheet.
When in the LEAP Accounting window, go to the Time & Fees tab and click Timesheet on the toolbar.
Click the Timesheet button at the top left-hand corner of the Matter List or any matter.

Timesheet Settings - Access the Timesheet settings including User preferences, Format columns, AutoText and Keyboard shortcuts.
Fee Earners Tab - Allows you to open a separate sheet for each staff member in your firm. There is also an Incomplete tab for the current user.

Move highlighted time entry to another staff member - Right-click on a time entry and select to move the time entry to another staff member.

Matter Summary

The Matter Summary provides you everything you need for time recording in one place, so there's no need to switch back to LEAP Desktop for basic matter details or a financial snapshot of the selected matter.

The Matter Summary is available from every screen, providing a quick view of key matter information whenever you need it.

To show the Matter Summary tab, click the icon and to hide the Matter Summary tab, click the icon.

You can also open the Matter Summary tab by clicking the icon.

New Entry

To create a new time entry:

Click New Entry or press the Ins key on your keyboard.

The timer will start and the Date column will have today's date.
Start typing your matter number or press CTRL + F on your keyboard to display the list of Matters.

Select a matter and the Client's name and Matter Description will automatically populate.
Enter an activity code or press CTRL + F on your keyboard to display the list of Activity Codes.

Select an activity code and the Activity Code and Billing Description will automatically populate.
Complete the time entry by tabbing through the cells onto the next line.

The time entry will turn green once it has been succesfully created.

The time entries will be colour-coded for easy identification.

Red - The entry has been modified but not updated on the matter.
Grey - The entry is incomplete.
Blue - The entry has been invoiced.

AutoTime Entries

AutoTime activities for the same time entry are grouped together, with a simple inline editor so you can quickly adjust activities as needed on the go.

To view all activities grouped for a time entry, click on the drop-down arrow next to the A icon to expand the details.

Incomplete

The Incomplete tab displays all of your incomplete time entries entered. Once a time entry has been completed, it will no longer be displayed under the Incomplete tab.

New Sheet

The Timesheet allows for one or more fee earner timesheets to be added. The Fee Earners tab will display at the top of the Timesheet window once selected. This is useful for staff members such as paralegals who enter time for multiple fee earners.

Click New Sheet.
Locate the relevant fee earner.

You can use the search bar to help locate the staff member.
Click Select.
The tab for the selected fee earner will now be added to the Timesheet.

You can now view or create new time entries on behalf of the new relevant fee earner.

To close the tab for the fee earner, click the X next to their name.

Performance

The Performance section assists you in monitoring your time and enables you to compare your actual time to what is budgeted.

Time and Fees

The Time and fees section displays a list of the last entries added to the relevant matter. This will help track progress of the matter and is particularly useful when more than one fee earner is involved on a matter.

Timesheet Settings

Click the cogwheel icon for the Timesheet Settings. These include: User preferences, Select columns, AutoText and Keyboard shortcuts.

User Preference

Toggle on any of the following User Preferences options:

Timer Settings

Start timer on new time fee: Toggle on to start the timer for a new fee.
Stop timer automatically: Toggle on to automatically stop the timer when you make an entry in the Elapsed or Units columns of your Timesheet.
One active timer running: Toggle on if you want to only have one active timer at any time.

New Time Fee Default

Repeat last matter: Toggle on if you want the default new time fee to be repeated from the last matter that you worked on.

View

Use compact view: Reduce padding and spacing in tables so you can see more rows on the screen at once.

Select Columns

You can customise your Timesheet by selecting which columns of information are displayed.

To display a column, turn on the toggle next to the relevant column.
To hide a column, turn off the toggle next to the relevant column.
To change the order of the displayed columns, click and drag the icon next to the column heading into the desired position.

Click Save to save your changes.

Auto Text

AutoText lets you save and reuse commonly entered Timesheet text. In LEAP Accounting Plus, AutoText is API-driven, so your saved entries are no longer tied to a specific device and will be available when you switch machines.

Shortcut - A keyword for the Value text.
Value - The full text of the shortcut's value when used in Timesheet.

To add a new keyword:

Click Add AutoText.
Enter the keyword in Shortcut.
Enter the full text of the keyword in Value.
To create another AutoText keyword, click Add AutoText to add another line. Click X to next to an AutoText keyword to delete.
Click Save.

To use AutoText:

Select the Billing Description of an entry.
Type your keyword from AutoText.
Press Space.
Your keyword will be changed to the shortcut's value.
