The Precedent Update Notification Screen has been introduced to notify you that changes were made to the precedent since your firm last used it.

The options available to select from are:

• Update and replace the existing precedent - When this option is selected, the existing precedent will be updated with all changes made.
• Ignore this update - When this option is selected, you will not receive the message advising that changes have been made, unless additional changes are made in the future.
• Remind me later -
  • After # days - When this option is selected, you can nominate a specific number of days that you would like to review the precedent changes.
  • Next time this precedent is used - When this option is selected, every time that you open the precedent, you will receive this updated precedent window.

Precedent Notifications

When browsing the Forms & Precedents window, Precedent Notifications will appear as a red dot next to the form icon to notify of any new precedent updates done by the LEAP Content Development Team.

You can hover over the icon to view the precedent notification without opening the form. 

If you have not been presented with the Precedent Update Notification Screen, and you believe the form has been updated, please hold Alt on your keyboard and double-click the precedent to bring up the latest version. Hold the Alt key until the precedent or form loads.

If you have a custom precedent that has been updated, you will receive the following notification:

You will receive the same prompts, with the choice of updating, ignoring, or delaying the message.

After an update is made, the first staff member to access the precedent will be presented with a notification message about the updates. They can either accept or ignore the updates from the notification window. Once the staff member has selected an option, it will be applied firm wide.

When a staff member does not have access to accept the changes, they will receive the following error message:

When OK is clicked, the precedent will open the current firm version. This message will continue to appear until the Firm Administrator selects an option.
