Learn efficient workbook management and how to increase productivity by utilizing the options in the LEAP ribbon in Microsoft Excel Workbooks.

LEAP Options

 
OptionDescription

Save & Close

Save and then close the current Microsoft Excel workbook.

Time Save & Close

Save and then close the current Microsoft Excel workbook while also generating a new Time Entry for the time spent on the workbook.

Save

Save the Microsoft Excel workbook without closing it and continue working on the workbook.

Close

Close the Microsoft Excel workbook without saving.

UpdateRefresh all LEAP fields with the current data.
RenameChange the name of the Microsoft Excel workbook.

Delete

Delete the Microsoft Excel workbook from the matter.

Advanced Options

 
OptionDescription
Bring to FrontYour LEAP software comes to the foreground to enable you to view the LEAP matter.
Insert FieldUse this option to insert a field from the database into your Microsoft Excel workbook. Place your cursor where you want to insert the field in your workbook and click Insert Field. Then select a field from the table and click Insert.
Toggle Fields

Use this option to show field codes instead of data.

Delete Field

Delete a highlighted field.

Please note: You can't use the Delete key on your keyboard to delete a highlighted field.

Convert Fields to TextConverts any fields in the current Microsoft Excel workbook into plain text so that you can make one off changes to the workbook.
Replace ReferencesChange the fields to another table type.

LEAP Automation Options for Microsoft Excel

 

Open a Microsoft Excel workbook from your matter then click the arrow in the bottom right corner of the LEAP section in the LEAP ribbon to open the LEAP Automation Options for Excel window.

General
Allow Screen Updating during mergeInformation such as status bar prompts, input boxes, dialog boxes, and message boxes remain visible while Excel is processing the current worksheet.
Prompt for reason when saving documentAfter saving, a prompt will appear requesting a reason for this change to be made.
