All matter types in LEAP are pre-configured based on the area of law that a user selects.

When a new matter is created, it populates a set of card tables and layout tables that capture the information that is required for that specific matter.

All the LEAP Forms are designed around this information being filled out in full in a matter.

The forms are automated with either simple fields that are just bringing in a name or address, or it could be that the form is designed to show a paragraph of information based on one field in a layout being filled out in a LEAP matter.

If a form is created, and information is not complete on the form, the first thing that should be done, is verifying that all information in the tables on the matter is complete.

An example of a field can be seen in the Divorce & Separation matter. In this matter, there is a “marriage/relationship and separation details” table. In this table, there is a series of information to complete, such as choosing the relationship type and date of marriage. These are different types of fields.

When an Application (General) is opened in this matter, this information will merge onto this form as well as other family law court documents that need this information, such as the Case Conference Brief.

If your information is not pulling through to the document, or you are having issues with your table types, you can reset the table types.

From the Details & Correspondence tab of the matter, right-click the Matter Details table and select Edit Table Types.

In Edit Table Types window, you can reset the table types or add any new table types into the tables on the left. 

It is extremely important that users fill out as much information as possible on each matter in progress in LEAP. This is true whether this is when a matter is first created, or when information is obtained throughout the duration of the matter. In the end, it will save the firm time and unnecessary repetition by having to complete less on the legal forms and documents.
