Open the matter.

Make sure you're on the Details & Correspondence tab.

Click Forms & Precedents.

The Forms & Precedents window will open.

Make sure you're on the Browse tab.

Navigate to the location where you would like to create a new Clause precedent.

Right-click on the right pane of the Forms & Precedents window then select New > Word or Excel Precedent.

Select Blank Document for the Document Type.

Select the Select None option in the Recipient.

Click OK.

The precedent will open in Microsoft Word.

Enter the clause and save the precedent with a distinctive name.

Right-click the precedent and select Change > Precedent’s Class > Clause.

Open the matter.

Make sure you're on the Details & Correspondence tab.

Click Forms & Precedents.

The Forms & Precedents window will open.

Find and open a Word precedent.

Click the Insert Clause button in the Advanced Functions section of the LEAP ribbon.

The Insert Clause window will open on the right of the document.

Place the cursor in the precedent where you want to insert the clause and click to position it.

Find and select a clause within the Insert Clause window.

Double-click the clause to insert into the document.

When you are done, click Save & Close.
